Territory
Hotline: 0845 130 8536
Trademarks are territorial. This means you need to register your mark in the country in which you do business.
If your product or service is mainly available in the UK, then a UK registration will be enough.
However if you also do business in the European Union, then you should consider filing for a Community Trade Mark or CTM for short.
If you have an international business providing goods or services in the European Union and in non EU countries, then consider making an application under the Madrid system. For more information about the Madrid Protocol choose 'other' from the drop down menu under Territory on our 'Get a quote' page.
