You are then unlikely to receive a proper evaluation of the extent of the risks.

Make sure you understand what you are buying when shopping around. Will you just get a trade mark application prepared for you which you yourself are expected to submit?  If so, you are only receiving a fraction of the work involved in a trade mark registration

Our advice to anyone looking to have a trade mark or design registered is to think long and hard before you opt for what appears to be the cheapest solution.  Also bear in mind that trade mark registration work is not regulated.  Anyone can set up as a provider of trade mark services, no matter how little experience they have.  So, don't be too easily seduced by the lowest price.  It could end up costing you a lot more by the time you actually get your certificate - that is, if you actually succeed and manage to secure registration, and if it actually protects your business activity.
