Cease and Desist

It is important not to ignore a cease and desist letter as it is generally sent as a warning to stop doing something or else legal action will follow.

Whether you have to hand over your domain and take down your website - (which may be one of the demands being made if you are alleged to be infringing on someone else's trademark) is a matter on which you will require early legal advice.

Sometimes the position may be quite clear cut and we would advise you to take the necessary corrective action, and other times you may have a number of steps you can take in response, even if you do need to change your name.
